Pedagogical Approach
The pedagogical approach of Colegio Peruano Alemán Alexander von Humboldt promotes a comprehensive education that combines academic excellence with the development of character. Our learning model fosters autonomy, critical thinking, responsibility and the active participation of students, supporting them in building knowledge and in their personal development.
This education integrates the sciences, the humanities, languages, the arts and sport, fostering solid and balanced learning throughout the entire school journey. Teachers guide this process through teaching that supports, challenges and strengthens the abilities of each student.
From Pre-Kindergarten to the German Abitur, the school offers continuous education that prepares students to face new challenges, pursue higher studies and act with confidence in national and international settings.
This educational model is grounded in principles that guide school life and consolidate the commitment of Colegio Alexander von Humboldt to academic excellence and to shaping people of character:

- Self-discipline and responsibility.
- Respect for human dignity and social awareness.
- Coexistence as an educational community.
- A bicultural and international perspective.
Alexander von Humboldt School Profile
Colegio Peruano Alemán Alexander von Humboldt bears the name of the scientist, explorer and humanist Alexander von Humboldt, whose thinking has inspired our educational project since its founding. His inexhaustible curiosity, his interdisciplinary vision of knowledge, his openness to dialogue between cultures and his commitment to lifelong learning form the basis of an education that shapes people of character, prepared to understand the world, act with responsibility and contribute positively to society. These principles are reflected in five pillars that guide our school life and give meaning to our educational approach.
1Interdisciplinary learningOur daily school life prioritizes interdisciplinary learning in the following ways
- We foster the scientific and humanistic education of our students, in whom we nurture aptitudes for artistic, musical and physical expression, as well as for healthy sporting competition.
- We encourage our students' sensitivity toward the environment and the social context, and, consequently, toward the major global issues.
- We conceive the content of the different subjects as parts of a comprehensive and coordinated education, for which the teachers of the different subjects work as a team.
- Through classroom projects, extracurricular courses and the carrying out of the "project week", we especially promote interdisciplinary learning.
- We promote a competent, safe and responsible use of digital media as support for learning and as a means of communication.
“Humboldt teaches us today to marvel, and the art of making the teaching of science irresistible to everyone.”
